Continuing our policy of supporting contemporary graphic artists, BNP Private Bank, as custodian of our common heritage, is pleased to bring you a selection of works by Denise Buonanno. Exhibition to be hold starting from October 2007 up to October 2008.
This lady is a versatile artist. Breaking out of a stifling French education system, she listened and gave free rein to her natural inspiration. After modelling with Valentino, she became Malcolm de Chazal's muse. He ignited her creative spirit and guided her towards the arts. Her talent then flowered under the tutorship of Xu Ren Long, a leading artist in China. On the stage, Jack Garfein of The Actor Studio trained her as an actress, and she appeared in Peter Greenaway’s film Vaux to the Sea.
Her personality is outgoing with a masculine touch. Her short stories and paintings explore the mind's magical mysteries, themes of loneliness and the quest for lost innocence. Studies of elegiac meditation on the simple pleasures and pursuits of life, familiar to all, are set out on a deliberately broad canvas to draw in the beholder. As a rare Bohemian oasis in the wilderness of visual art, Denise Buonanno invites you to set sail to her unique golden dreamlike world of spiritual and sunlit illusion.
Her art has been widely exhibited and acclaimed in France, Germany, Singapore, Vietnam and Mauritius.
